A new report, published today by the world obesity federation, shines a spotlight on the rise in obesity levels around the world and highlights that all countries are worryingly off track to meet the 2025 global targets to which they have. Between 1990 and 2022, worldwide adult obesity rates more than tripled from 5% to nearly 16% of the global adult population.
Tuvalu rounds out the top five countries with the highest obesity rates, where 64% of adults are considered obese. Between 1975 and 2014, obesity rates increased from 3.2% to 10.8% for men & from 6.4% to 14.9% for women.
